"Waving to the Future"

I have - in my adult life - always liked the idea of capturing unposed pictures and not liked to take pictures of people all frozen and posing for the camera.  But once I saw a video I took of someone greatly missed and no longer with us - who was waving at the camera, suddenly a special importance of waving to the camera - especially a motion picture camera - hit me.  The person waving to the camera is basically envisioning the picture being seen later, and so in a very real sense, they are waving to the future.

Once they're gone, their looking into the camera - waving to the watcher looking back at them who is wishing they were still here... takes on more meaning in its own way than unposed pictures.

And so - I would recommend waving into the camera from time-to-time.  People who will miss you in the future will feel some connection with the past in a way that can't be done any other way.  Not in any other way I can think of anyway.

Well, everything forms a whole through pieces, and this is just a piece of the giant puzzle, but it's a fairly important piece - I suddenly strongly feel.
