"Ikegami Line Hums Off Through Light & Shadows" (100108-1410)

Going from a vertical view of shadows on the platform to a horizontal view of an Ikegami Line train leaving the station.

The Ikegami Line is interesting is that there are four generations of railway carriages being used, with the oldest being close to 50 years old and the newest being very recently put on the rails.

"Senzokuike Park - One Sunny, Calm, Cold Day in January" (100108-1420)

Walking around in sunny, but cold Senzokuike Park, starting with a 360 decree pan of the surroundings, and then walking over to look out over the pond (or should I say small lake) that forms the center of the park, and is what makes this such a nice spot within mega-city Tokyo.

"Kabukicho 'Shinjuku Golden-gai' 歌舞伎町新宿ゴールデン街" (100116-2000)

Wandering around in the mysterious "Golden-gai" area of Kabukicho in Shinjuku. This used to be just a cheap drinking area comprised of a collection of small wooden buildings, but it's becoming a bit of a tourist attraction as it seems very much from a different era. Walking through on a Saturday night at 8:00 p.m., I got the feeling that business isn't so good - many of the shops were empty and most of the people I saw walking through were just sight-seeing a funky old area, and not going into any of the drinking establishments. On the other hand - 8:00 p.m. may be way too early for this area. It's probably busier around 10:00 and 11:00 p.m.
