"Kudankita and Chidorigafuchi Hanami & Sakura - 2010"

Several clips from Kudankita and Chidorigafuchi - taken on March 31st, 2010 of the sakura trees in bloom and all the people there to celebrate the coming of spring and the beauty of the trees.

"Kudankita 2-Chome Hanami Walkabout-B" (100331-1910)

Walking about on the main path at Kudankita - walking up the hill toward the section with the most sakura trees in the hanami area - walking past the many food stalls.

"Kudankita 2-Chome Hanami Walkabout-C" (100331-2002)

Walking along the narrow dirt path behind the main sakura tree area, between the seating areas and the food stalls.

"Kudankita 2-Chome Hanami Walkabout-D" (100331-2004)

Another walkabout by the small stalls, but looking around a bit more with this one - not hurrying quite as much.

"Food Stalls and Shadows at Kudankita Hanami" (100331-2019)

Walking on the main stone passageway that leads under the huge torii gate, with floodlights behind me casting long shadows of the people walking away from the lights.

"Chidorigafuchi Sakura Trees in Bloom at Night" (100331-2028)

Walking along one of the most famous places for viewing the cherry blossoms in Tokyo - Chidorigafuchi.  It was a little before they were in full bloom, but everyone was enjoying them nevertheless, and most people were taking pictures of them as they slowly walked along.

"Different Color Sakura Trees at Chidorigafuchi at Night" (100331-2033)

Further down along the old moat (of former Edo Castle), the color of the blossoms changed, as did the atmosphere, which seemed to be connected with the colors somewhat.  Viewing the blossoms at night can actually be better than seeing them in the day - provided they are illuminated!  When they shut the lights off later (around 10:00 p.m. I think), then most of the magic from the light show vanishes with the light.

"Standing Under Gigantic Torii During Hanami Season" (100331-2135)

Standing by the huge torii gate at Kudankita and watching the scene for a little before heading for a station.
