Leaving Kichijoji Station via the Chuo Line - walking through part of the carriage and then looking out the window at a combination of a direct outside view and a reflected inside view. This is a large part of life in Tokyo!
Thinking back to my car culture days, I can easily recall the view from the drivers seat of my 1971 Datsun 510 (which I drove seven days a week for about four years). One of the train culture versions of that, is watching inside/outside views at night while looking out the window at an angle.
Hmm... speaking of memories from the driver's seat - for some reason the first thing that comes to mind are memories of sitting there on rainy days - maybe because the senses were more alert on such days?
